Whether you have dynamic lines from smiling and frowning, or you have fine lines and wrinkles from loss of collagen or sun damage, you may be wondering what options you have for reducing the appearance of these wrinkles. RHA fillers are a newer option that can provide more natural-looking results for individuals who want younger-looking skin.
If you are looking for different solutions to your lines or wrinkles and you want to try RHA cosmetic treatment, we can set up a consultation with you at The Skin Retreat in Little Rock, AR. We offer RHA fillers alongside other treatments such as neuromodulators and traditional HA fillers.
What Are RHA Fillers?
RHA fillers, or Resilient Hyaluronic Acid fillers, are products in the RHA collection that are designed to smooth and lift wrinkles, folds, and fine lines in the face. RHA cosmetic treatments are injected into the skin in different areas of concern to fill in the space and make the overlying skin smooth and youthful.
While made using hyaluronic acid like many other fillers on the market, this line of products features the latest technology in HA fillers. The result is a filler that looks more natural and moves dynamically along with your facial expressions. As the only FDA-approved filler for dynamic lines, wrinkles, and folds, it offers more options for patients seeking anti-aging solutions for their face.
What Makes RHA Fillers Different From Other Fillers?
Cross-Linking Technology
Special RHA technology allows for longer strands of crosslinked hyaluronic acid. During production of the formula, the HA goes through gentler processing and is created at a lower temperature. This allows RHA fillers to more closely resemble the hyaluronic acid that is already found in our skin, bones, eyes, and joints.
Longer-Lasting Formula
Because of RHA’s technology, these products can be longer lasting. With RHA dermal fillers, deeper lines and folds can benefit from treatments for up to 15 months. Lipstick lines that are treated with the RHA collection can last up to 12 months.
Moves More Naturally
The crosslinking technology also allows for more elasticity in the formulation. This means that it can be used in very dynamic areas such as the nasolabial folds, lipstick lines, or crow’s feet. Because it has elasticity, these products can move naturally with your face when you frown, laugh, or smile.
The RHA Collection of Fillers
- RHA Redensity™: RHA Redensity is a light and weightless filler that can be used to smooth away lipstick lines. It is the thinnest product in the line of dermal fillers.
- RHA 2: This product has a slightly denser formula than RHA Redensity and can be used to help fill in fine lines and moderate wrinkles.
- RHA 3: Thicker than RHA 2, this RHA filler can provide structure while still keeping a natural look in areas that have moderate lines and wrinkles.
- RHA 4: This is the thickest of the RHA fillers and can be used to treat deep wrinkles and folds.
What Are RHA Fillers Used For?
RHA for Dynamic Facial Lines
While other fillers have been used successfully to help treat loss of volume as well as lines and wrinkles, this product offers a unique use. RHA is for dynamic facial lines that before were best treated using other types of injectables.
RHA for Fine Lines
Fine lines can appear around the lips, eyes, nose, and more. RHA for fine lines will help these areas to regain a more youthful appearance.
RHA for Wrinkles
Other wrinkles in the face can be caused by the reduction of fat pads or by the loss of collagen and elastin in the dermis of the skin. RHA for wrinkles can be used to restore lost volume in many areas of the face.
Are You a Good Candidate for RHA Fillers?
RHA fillers can be suitable for many individuals regardless of age, skin type, skin tone, and other factors. However, only your doctor can determine if RHA injections are right for you. We will look at your overall health and more to help determine your candidacy for these treatments.
What Are RHA Injections Like?
At our clinic, we will prepare you for your treatment at your consultation. During this appointment with us, you can let us know if you have any concerns or questions about RHA injections. On the day of injections, we may apply a local anesthetic to minimize sensation in the treatment area. Without anesthetic, the injection will feel like a small pinch. We will inject the target area at several different locations, but the treatment will be very fast.
After your treatment, you might have some swelling, bruising, or redness. These are all normal and expected and should go away quickly (within 7-10 days). You can also help to reduce any bruising that you have after the treatment by staying away from NSAIDs, blood thinners, and alcohol a few days before your treatment. You should always talk to your doctor about starting or stopping any medication or before having RHA injections.
